**Questions have been raised about the purpose of the upcoming forum, for this we apologize. We have invited representatives from UTOPIA and Orem to come address how a UTOPIA contract impacts the transfer of property. As an organization committed to protecting property values, property rights, and promoting homeownership, we felt the duty to seek clarity on all the impacts on a home with a contract.
We hope to explore the contract language and determine if this contract is discoverable in a title search. We're trying to avoid the situation of a homeowner moving into their new home and receiving a new bill that comes as a surprise. If a UTOPIA contract is disclosed and discoverable, home buyers can have confidence in the buying process.
This will not be a forum to discuss city leader decisions or the role of government.

Purpose:
To educate homeowners on impacts of a UTOPIA contract.
The length of a UTOPIA contract is considerable and stays with the house. Those same contracts also grant the company the right to use any means to collect their fees.
